Apps For Good Winners!
Exciting win for Reading Girls' apps for Good Team!
The girls cannot quite believe that they have won their category! It is a phenomenal achievement. They had a nerve wracking day at the barbican where they had to present their idea to a panel of judges (in an apprentice board room style setting) the panel was led by the head of Marketing for Dell. Then they demonstrated their app to people from all types of businesses. They finally had to present to over 200 people before they were announced as winners. Each of the 5 girls will receive a lap-top as their prize, and they will continue to be involved in the development of the app which will eventually be on sale to the public. Dell is hoping to arrange for the students to repeat their presentation to their staff at Bracknell, as they think it would inspire them.
Shreya Gurung, 14; Kanchan Gurung, 15; Urooj Hussain, 13; Zobia Yasin, 12; Tahreem Ali, 14 and Mrs Monk is holding the trophy!
