Snap Fiction - Y5 Enterprise Day
Year 5's from local primary schools have been attending Enterprise Events at Reading Girls' School
One of the Enterprise Events was called "Snap Fiction" Teams of Y5's from local primaries competed in a challenge to create, promote and market a new childrens book. The details of the challenge were:
Ø Create a book of short, short stories – 50 words or less – to sell to other children
l Do you want a theme? (‘It was a dark and stormy night …’)
l Do you want a subject? (such as spy stories)
l Write your stories!
l Draw some illustrations if you want
Ø Create the marketing campaign, which should include:
l An eye-catching front cover for your book, including a blurb
l Visual materials, such as an outline for a filmed advert
The presentations were viewed by members of staff and a winner was selected. It was a very close run thing. All the groups had different strengths and it was a shame there could only be one winning team. All teams received certificates, and seemed to enjoy the event.
