Voice In A Million
46 of our students sang as part of a massed choir event at Wembley Arena!
This was a very long day for all of our students (and the accompanying staff!) You can find pictures here. The girls had been practicing with Mr Greenway for months. You can hear a sample of the results below.
It was a fantastic experience for the girls.
A message from Mr Greenway:
Just a note to say what a fantastic opportunity VIAM proved to be for our girls. The commitment to regular rehearsals over a substantial period of time isn't to be underestimated, nor is the tie, support and encouragement and generosity given by parents and carers too. Thank you.
They all sang and danced with enormous energy and vigour (as I'm sure you will see from the short clip) and I'm sure were completely worn out by the end of the show! The highlight for most of the girls was to see 'Bars & Melody' twice; I never heard 46 girls scream so loudly!
It goes without saying that I'm very proud of the school choir, not only in the way that they sing, but also in the way that they have melded as a group of people who support each other, the cake sale was an excellent example of this. A big thank you too, to each of the staff that came with us: Mr Bish; Miss Spence; Mrs Edwards; and Mrs Glancy and also Mrs Lazaro (parent) the girls were a credit to themselves and their families and the school and it was a pleasure to spend time with them. New projects are ahead for RGSC, and VIAM 2016 is booked for March 2, 2016. If you're reading this and would like RGSC to sing to an audience of which you may be aware, please let me know.
RGSC rehearses after school on Mondays from 3.15 - 4.15pm all students welcome.
