Some year 10 students arranged for Launchpad to deliver an assembly to the year 9 students as part of their coursework.
The year 10 students have been raising money this year for various charities, including Launchpad. Here is a little about the charity.
A second chance for people in Reading
We’ve all made poor decisions, had bad luck or made mistakes. Most of the time we’re able to shrug them off and get on with life.
But it’s not always easy to get back on a stable path. That’s why Launchpad exists: to help vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Reading turn things around.
Providing positive support
We believe everyone deserves a second chance. That includes our clients, who need positive support to get a roof over their head, skills to live independently and confidence to get into employment.
Regular donations help us provide services that improve local people’s lives. Once you’ve read about what we do, please consider making a donation. http://www.launchpadreading.org.uk/
The girls listened carefully to the thoughtful presentation, and we are sure that many of them now have a better understanding of how people can become homeless through a number of different circumstances. Fundraising for the charity is still goin gon and we will let you know how much is raised in total. In the meantime, well done to the girls for arranging such a thought provoking assembly.
