Reading Girls' School

"The Big Match" fundraiser

On Thursday 22 May all students (and staff) were invited to donate £1 and wear sports gear!

The day was also a whole School PSHE day, which included year 9's receiving training on the field (and in drama when it started raining!) from the RAF. Year 10's had visits and talks from a variety of influential local businesswomen hoping to inspire the next generation. Year 7 had lots of activities and talks about personal safety, and year 8's did a lot of team building activities and team games.

During the morning, "The Big Match" bought their double decker bus and parked it on the school field, and the year 8's were treated to a spectacular display of freestyling. The donations from the girls on the day raised over £350 for the charity, and they are hoping some of you will attend the main event at the stadium on Saturday 31 May 2014. There will be plently of pblicity n the local press and two of our year 10 girls will be particiapting in the event, so go ahead and show your support for the the charities (The Brain Tumour Trust; Action for Children)
