"Abbey and Reading Girls' top Young Enterprise Contest" was the sub heading in the Reading Evening Post on 13 April 2011

Business brainboxes at the Abbey and Reading Girls' Schools proved themselves the best young entrepreneurs in town when they came top in the Young Enterprise final for Reading The two teams were among five taking part  in the scheme last month and will now progress to the Berkshire Count Final at the Hilton Hotel in Reading on Friday 6 May.

Dynamic from Reading Girls' School was runner-up despite it's team being a year younger that their opponents. The winning team were Checkmate (the Abbey School) the other teams were Indigo and Sofios (Kendrick School); RBM (Reading School); Torrendo (Reading Blue Coat School) Aardvark (The Abbey School)

Deputy Mayor of Reading, councillor Jenny Ryan presentedtrophies to the winners. She said "I am extremely impressed by your hard work, enthusiasm and the high standard of presentations. All the companies were winners tonight and we wish both Checkmate and Dynamic good luck in the county finals.
